Black fruit and wild berries aromas are nicely enveloped in subtle notes of fresh spices. The palate is intense and rich, with a solid structure and long finish.
Founded in 1973 by José Roquette and Joaquim Bandeira, Esporão's mission is to make the finest wines from what nature provides. Esporão owns and manages vineyards in Alentejo, Douro and Vinho Verde. Their own vineyards cover over 637ha but they also work closely with long-term contract growers in supplying the rest their needs. They are strong believers in biodiversity, so all of their vineyards are surrounded by natural, wild areas, supporting their organic farming and encouraging nature and wildlife to thrive.
From 18-years-old vineyards planted on granitic, schist soils with open clay structure.
