Food Recommendations

Pale yellow in colour with a fine, persistent mousse. Fresh aromas of tart apples and pears with notes of citrus rind and white flowers. Subtle spices come through on the nose with cinnamon and biscuit notes, due to the ageing. This is a structured Cava on the palate, with a well-balanced acidity and a creamy texture. The finish is long and fresh with plenty of volume.

Cavas Bohigas is a cellar creating wines and Cavas with more than eight centuries of history. It is located in the privileged surroundings of the "Anoia river basin", in Ōdena, more specifically, at the cellars and vineyards of Can Maciā, with more than 35 hectares of vineyard on 200 hectares of property including vineyards, cereal crops and woodland. More than 800 years old, Can Maciā, classified of historical and artistic interest, is appreciated for the beauty of its buildings. Around the manor house, which maintains the authentic style of a Catalan farmhouse, are the different spaces of the winery and cellars, as well as the chapel, which was built in 1922 in devotion to the Virgen de la Merced and which contains paintings by Josep Pey. The cellar currently employ a team of twelve people, and the annual production is close to 550,000 bottles, 500,000 bottles of cava and 50,000 of wine. Since 2002, as to gain entry to the foreign market, Bohigas has formed part of Terra Nostra de Vinos, a consortium comprised of five cellars with different designations of origin. More than 80% of the production is distributed to the foreign market.

A blend of 55% Xarel-lo, 30% Macabeu and 15% Parellada

Second fermentation in the bottle is carried out in underground cellars which maintain a natural temperature of around 16ēC year-round. In the cellars, completely isolated from light and sound, the yeast slowly and constantly does its work. Bohigas Reserva Cava is aged in the cellar for at least 18 months. The bottles are then clarified and disgorged to remove the yeast and a dosage of 6g/l is added.

Fish, rice dishes as well as dried fruit and nuts. It is also the ideal Cava to accompany a whole meal.
