Delicate, fresh and truly exquisite
'Rosé Sainte Marie' has fragrant notes of fresh lemon peel and Provence herbs, complemented by the natural sweetness of red fruit and the distinctive perfume of white flowers and orange blossom, carried on a sea breeze. Lavender and lemon verbena, along with a hint of white pepper, add subtle finesse. On the palate it has fullness and intensity whilst remaining smooth with an endearing and lingering softness to finish.
Inspired by the coastal vitality of Salcombe and its shipbuilding heritage, Salcombe Distilling Co. creates exceptional gin at its waterside distillery on Island Street, Salcombe; one of the world's only distilleries directly accessible by boat. Salcombe Fruiters were schooner sailing vessels built in Salcombe and neighbouring Kingsbridge in the 19th century. These hand-built ships were the fastest of their day, with copper sheathed hulls and an ability to sail close to the wind, they were small and fast to carry the highly perishable cargo of fresh fruits and spices from around the world to England's ports. Harnessing the essence of these ships' precious cargo and their exotic trading routes, Salcombe Gin Co. use only the finest citrus fruits and spices to create their collection of exceptional, award-winning gins, each led by flavour and inspired by history.
Distilled and crafted using the finest Macedonian juniper berries to provide structure in the background, partnered with a natural, but not overpowering soft sweetness from strawberries and angelica. Fresh citrus peels of lemon and orange which are hand peeled each day prior to distillation and combined with ten further hand sourced botanicals including lemon verbena, rose petals, orange blossom and pink peppercorns. All these elements combine to create this truly exceptional gin that is elegantly soft and smooth.
Best served on its own over ice or with a premium Indian tonic water and a slice of strawberry to accentuate the bouquet of red fruit, or a twist of fresh lemon peel to bring the fragrant citrus to the fore.
