Sean Driscoll

Incredible knowledge and unbeatable at the pub quiz! 

Sean comes from a hospitality background, having worked in restaurants and wine bars both here in the Peak District and in Liverpool.  He grew up in Monyash where his family run the local café and bistro. 

For the past 9 years he was manager of a gym and spa on a local holiday park, where customer service and relations were top of his list of priorities.

He has a love of the craft that goes into the making of wines and spirits, and is a regular visitor to the South of France to sample the best the Languedoc has to offer.

Whether out and about, or in the shop, Sean's role is to help you. 



What Sean's Drinking...

"I still enjoy trying all the new wines when they land in the shop and I enjoy that moment when we discover a real stand out gem, which we all are happy to recommend to customers as tried and tested!

But, if I was asked to choose a wine that has really impressed me over and over, it would be the Ontanon Rioja 2010 Reserva. I first tried it a tasting event with a Beef Wellington dish, it is fantastic. Ontanon only release Reserva wines in exceptional years and this is proof of how justified that rule is.

Smooth, with dark fruit flavours, works so well with Red Meat (which works well with me), this is a wine for special occasions or can just make an occasion special."
