Party Wines

It's that time of year again when we look forward to those up and coming events and we start to plan. It can be a both daunting and exciting but don’t worry we are here to help.

Here are some of the main points to consider:

Know your Guests: Think about their preferences. Do they enjoy red, white, rosé, or sparkling? Having a mix ensures everyone finds something they like. This is also an important consideration when looking at quantities to order.

Pairing with Food: If you're serving food, you may wish to choose wines that complement the dishes. For example:

  • Red wines like Cabernet Sauvignon or Pinot Noir pair well with meats.
  • Whites like Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay go nicely with fish and lighter dishes.
  • Sparkling wines can complement finger foods or desserts beautifully.

Season and Occasion: The time of year and theme of the party matter. Lighter whites and rosés are popular in warmer months, while robust reds can be cosy for cooler weather.

Budget: Set a budget and stick to it. There are great wines available at all price points, so don’t feel pressured to splurge.

Volume: Plan for approximately half a bottle of wine per guest. Adjust this depending on whether wine will be the main drink or just an additional option.

Serving Options: Don’t forget the essentials like wine glasses, corkscrews, and chilling options. Having both chilled whites and room-temperature reds is a nice touch.

Get Creative: Book in for a wine tasting to explore options for your event, bring people with you who’s opinion you trust and make a day of it!
