Ripe white peaches and mango on the nose with elegant, tight, structured and stony, with mineral flavours on the palate, no oak, very pure, clean and crisp. Fruit for this is sourced from a stunning 200 year old hacienda which sits amidst strawberry fields in the Andean foothills.

When Eric Monnin (wine maker) first visited the long established family fruit grower he was hugely struck by the beautiful, 200 year old hill-top hacienda whose wooden columns and ancient palm trees have magically survived all the biggest earthquakes in recorded history. He was also struck by the strawberries grown there, and by sheer force of personality convinced them to grow some Pinot Noir!

In the vineyard

Produced from old vine Chardonnay (25- 40yrs) grown on the Hacienda Valle Frio estate in Maule Valley.

In the winery

No oak is used so the wine is a pure expression of the fruit. The old wooden winery in the midst of strawberry fields has survived all of Chile's worst earthquakes over the past 2 centuries.
