Offering richer fruit due to the warmer vintage with aromas of peach, apple, mandarin and gentle white floral notes. A broad palate featuring the rounded fruit flavours and toasty brioche yet with underlying racy acidity throughout the complex lengthy finish.

Producer details

Synonymous with quality and prestige and being the Champagne of choice of Winston Churchill and more recently our own Royal Family, it is still a family run house with a reputation for producing elegant Champagnes, great for ageing. They only release a vintage Champagne in years where the climate permits perfect ripeness of the grapes so they will have great potential for ageing.

In the vineyard

Rigorous selection of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from the vineyards around Epernay from a low yielding vintage

In the winery

Each variety and village are fermented separately until the final blending. After secondary fermentation in the bottle they are kept in the deepest reaches of the vast underground Pol Roger cellars with hand 'remuage' (riddling or turning of the bottles) for a number of years before disgorgement.
