Juicy and full bodied with plenty of blackcurrant and blueberry fruit. This Malbec has wonderfully velvety tannins and a great freshness.

Producer details

Boutinot has been working with growers in California for over 10 years, finessing their offering from vintage to vintage, increasing with specific estates sourcing old vine material and site-specific fruit.

In the vineyard

Grapes are sourced from the northern end of California's long central valley. Malbec here benefits from the cooling influence of San Francisco bay so grapes retain freshness.

In the winery

After fermentation 70% of the Malbec is aged on oak for 4 months giving good integration and subtle oak characteristics. A small percentage of Syrah is blended into the wine before bottling to give some extra structure to this plush red wine.
