Tasting Notes

The wine has a saturated garnet colour that borders on purple-blue. The nose is elegant and powerful, delivering gingerbread, vanilla, ripe plum and berry fruit aromas. On the palate, the complexity of its well structured red fruit character is enhanced by the appearance of delicious spice notes and supple tannins.

Producer details

Chateau du Barry is situated 5km south of Saint-Emilion with vines planted on the slopes of the Sud de Guillac.

In the vineyard

80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc makes up the blend. The grapes are harvested by machine and sorted in the vineyard.

In the winery

The grapes are crushed and placed into stainless steel vats. Here the wine ferments before being allowed to mature in cement and stainless steel for anywhere from 12-18 months, depending on the vintage.
