Approachable and balanced
Ripe, sweet bramble fruit with spice on the nose. The palate is nicely balanced: dark, muscular and spicy with berry fruit and good tannic structure.
Domaine Berthelemot is a young- created in 2006 by merging the mature holdings of the Garaudet and Darviot estates. These estates are across Beaune, Pommard, Meursault, Puligny and Chassagne. In 2018, Berthelemot started conversion to organic agriculture and from the 2021 vintage onwards wines will be certified organic.
From vines in both the Noizons and Petit Noizons plots planted between 1924 and 1997. The soil is reddish brown limestone with some ferrous oxide, which provides rich, aromatic wines that age well. They are kept in top condition, and the team responds quickly to regular analyses of the soil and the vines in order to assess appropriate cultivation methods using the bare minimum of herbicides and other artificial, chemical intervention.
The success of this estate in the heart of Burgundy is down to the hard work and talent of its founder, Brigitte Berthelemot, together with her estate manager and winemaker, Marc Cugney who strive to produce the best wines reflecting the nature of the land and the year.
