The Mâcon-Villages from Joseph Drouhin is a fresh and expressive Chardonnay with aromas of crisp green apple, white peach, and delicate citrus zest. On the palate, bright acidity and a smooth, rounded texture create a beautifully balanced wine, revealing notes of ripe pear, honeysuckle, and a subtle minerality. The finish is clean and refreshing, making it an easy-drinking yet elegant expression of southern Burgundy.

Founded in 1880, Joseph Drouhin is a renowned family-owned winery based in Beaune, Burgundy. With 78 hectares of vineyards across various subzones, the estate is committed to expressing the unique terroirs of the region. Embracing organic and biodynamic practices, Joseph Drouhin emphasises sustainability and respect for the environment in crafting wines of purity and elegance.

The grapes for this wine are sourced from the expansive Mâcon-Villages appellation in southern Burgundy, near Pouilly-Fuissé. The vineyards are situated on clay and chalk soils dating from the Jurassic era, which are highly favourable for cultivating Chardonnay. The region's varied terroir allows for the selection of grapes with diverse characteristics, contributing to the wine's complexity and balance.

After harvesting, which may be done by hand or with grape harvesters, the grapes undergo pneumatic pressing. The whites go directly into vats after settling. Alcoholic fermentation and ageing are carried out in vats over 6 to 10 months. Throughout the aging process, decisions are made only after careful tasting evaluations, ensuring the true expression of the terroir and the character of the vintage.

This Mâcon-Villages pairs beautifully with a variety of dishes. Enjoy it as an aperitif, or with legumes, vegetables, and white fish, where the wine's freshness complements the delicate flavours. Its versatility makes it a delightful companion to both light appetisers and main courses.
