Larry Cherubino Wines is a name that consistently pops up when discussing Western Australian wine. Larry Cherubino, the man behind the label, is a bit of a legend in the region. After graduating from Australia's prestigious Roseworthy program, he spent years honing his craft around the world before returning home in 2005 to set up his own show. Today, he's not only making highly regarded wines under his own label, but also lends his expertise to a number of other big names. Larry's a bloke who wears his passion for winemaking clearly on his sleeve, and it shows in the quality of the wines he produces.
The 2022 vintage benefited from mild, wet spring conditions, followed by a dry and warm late spring and summer. This created ideal growing conditions, with little disease pressure and perfect Pinot and Chardonnay grapes harvested in March and April. The resulting fruit, sourced from multiple sites in the Great Southern region, offered generous flavors and fresh acidity.
The wine was crafted using a combination of wild fermentation and selected yeasts. It was aged in 1-3 year old French oak barrels for six months, which added complexity and texture, while allowing the fruit's vibrant character to shine through.
Perfectly paired with grilled red meats, pizza, or mature cheeses.
