Beautifully balanced with no added sulphites
A fruity, pure and mineral wine with violet floral notes, a hint of dark berry fruits and a black pepper finish. The tannins are well-integrated with a lovely balance on the fresh finish.
The Château de la Terrière has stood in Cercié since the 16th century and is one of the oldest estates in the region. Located in the heart of the historic Beaujolais, facing Mont Brouilly, the property and its vines spread southwards over a volcanic hill, giving the wines a unique character, as most of other vineyards in this appellation are planted on sandy soils. Their approach is very traditional - from planting clover in between the vines to fix nitrogen in the soil and to limit the weeding, to harvesting by hand in small trays to keep a high quality of the grapes.
From a 2ha plot called 'La Sibérie', located in the Régnié appellation and planted in 1911. These old vines produce tiny yields of small, but very healthy and strong berries.
Traditional whole-bunch vinification, followed by maceration for about 25 days. For this cuvee, a natural method was used with no added sulphites, to highlight the authenticity of this terroir.
Perfect with paté and a fresh baguette.
