The palate is bright and textural, reflecting the terroir, with tangy fruits and blossom characters. A very more-ish wine with a lovely long finish.
Boutinot South Africa is driven by their passion for discovery and desire to capture the real essence of South Africa in every bottle. It was through a love of Loire Chenin Blanc that first led Boutinot to South Africa in 1994, where they pioneered the wild ferment style that has now been adopted by many producers in the region. Their home grown South African winemaking team of JD Rossouw, Ryno Booysen and Pierre Louw drive the energy and enthusiasm for expressing the loveliest wines from their country, along with Samantha Bailey's expertise in finesse. The key is knowing the characteristics of each plot, understanding the benefits each cultivar can bring, breaking the rules and pushing boundaries.
This white blend is predominantly made out of Chenin Blanc along with components of Viognier, Grenache Blanc and a little Semillon. 100% old bush vines from Swartland's sandy, granitic soils, the powerful southern sunshine makes sure the grapes reach their optimum ripeness.
All grapes are picked by hand, softly crushed and fermented in stainless steel tanks. The result is a lively wine with a juicy mouthfeel that you can enjoy every day.
A very versatile wine. Its freshness, flavours and bold aromas match anything from a light summer salad to a plate of freshly shucked oysters.
