The wine is an intense violet-red color. Its intense aromas include minerals like graphite, acidic berries like raspberry, cherry and red currants, and hints of the fresh herbs and lavender characteristic of the region. Full and concentrated on the palate, it strikes a perfect balance between acidity and tannins. It has a long-lasting, fresh, elegant finish.

Cadus is a perfectly formed winery near Tupungato, in the shadow of the Andes Mountains, within the Uco Valley. This high altitude region has quickly built a reputation as the home of premium Mendozan wines and the Cadus range is no exception. The soil profiles and compositions within the Uco Valley vary within short distances, allowing for different grape varieties and resulting in wines styles with unique characteristics.With vineyards in the best sites in the Valley (namely Gualtallary, Vista Flores and Agrelo in Lujan de Cuyo), Cadus wines are classic in style but with a very modern twist thanks to the vision of winemaker Santiago Mayorga (Young Winemaker of the Year 2017) who is quickly forging a reputation for bright, lifted expressions of wine from the region.

Winemakers, Santiago Mayorga, has access to some of the best vineyard sites in Mendoza. The focus is on small productions of high quality wines. Gualtallary is a charming micro region located in the Tupugnato Appellation of Uco Valley, Mendoza. Located at an altitude of 1300masl (which gives intense cold night temperatures), the terroir is outstanding with limestone, sandy and rocky soils.

60-80% of the wine is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels of 1st, 2nd and 3rd use.

Roasted lamb, red meats, and the perfect match to the traditional "empanadas" from Argentina (home made meat pies). Or perfect as a comforting, fireside wine.
