Rich and intense with bright, fresh fruit acidity.
Pale straw colour with light gold tinges, complex notes of pears and peach compote, with white flower aromatics. A taste of rich, sweet fruit coming through strongly with great fruit acidity. Textural intensity rounded with honey notes, balanced with white flower and citrus flavours typical of the great length of this Moscatel grape.
Raquel, Ruben and Maria Pérez Cuevas are part of the 3rd generation of the Cuevas family to make wine in Rioja Baja. Their father, Gabriel, inherited parcels of vineyards just outside the town of Quel on the higher slopes of the Sierra de Yerga mountain range. He was determined to produce wine that embodied the region, where he believed some of the highest quality wines from Rioja are made, and soon acquired more vineyard in the area.
Moscatel grapes are allowed to over mature on the vines to obtain natural sugars and the deep aromas of the Moscatel variety.
A short maceration with a temperature controlled fermentation to preserve the aromatic potential. Fermentation is halted when the required intensity is reached to give the quality and character of the variety.
Delicious as an aperitif or with dessert like chocolates and ice-creams.
