Measure twice, cut once. Right first time...

Judd Slack

Judd joined the team back in late 1999 as a waitress at the wine bar, having proved her skills she quickly got promoted to manager in January 2000 and then became the first official employee at the Hattersley Wine Team! An obvious appointment really...

Judd is well travelled, living for a number of years in wine-rich regions... Australia, New Zealand, Spain, France and Over Haddon.

We know Judd for her vast wine knowledge gleaned from thorough tasting in the wineries of Burgundy and Champagne, her personable nature and her ability to keep John and the rest of the Hattersley clan in order.

In our opinion one of Judd's best traits is her attention to detail and knowledge of how to do things right first time. If anyone wants help in the team they look to Judd, she is meticulous in her approach and efficient in all she does. So if you need anything marketing, accounts, website or business related - ask for Judd!

Ontañón Rioja Vetiver Blanco

Spain, Rioja
£12.50
Single bottle

"It is so tricky to choose just one wine, a favourite can change everyday (even every hour!) depending on setting, mood, occasion, weather etc. Of course I have some I prefer over others and I have my standby favourites which are versatile wines, kept on the rack, which will serve most occasions from family dinners to binge watching 'Line of Duty' on Netflix - serious high ranking wine required here!
So I thought about my favourite wine people and places and Bodegas Ontañón immediately sprang to mind. Add to that my weakness for white Rioja, it had to be their fabulous Vetiver Rioja Blanco. With complex layers of flavours - a new element revealed at every sip - juicy ripe fruit, natural acidity and careful oak ageing it is always and winner for me. As they say in Spain...¡estupendo!"
