Paul Boutinot – Waterkloof Wines, South Africa

We’re delighted to welcome Paul Boutinot, one of the great characters of the UK wine trade, and the man behind Waterkloof Wines in South Africa.

Paul’s search for the perfect vineyard site led him to the windswept slopes of the Schapenberg, overlooking False Bay, where he founded Waterkloof in 2004. Today, the estate is renowned for its organic and regenerative approach, minimal-intervention winemaking and wines that truly express their sense of place.

For us, Paul is a particularly special guest — he and John have been working together for the best part of 50 years. So expect some great South African wines, plenty of stories and perhaps a little Hattersley history along the way!

Andy Falk, Alex Gittens, Kate Burgess,

Boutinot Wines are one of the UK’s great independent wine companies, with a passion for discovering brilliant wines and working closely with quality-driven producers around the world. Not only do they work locally with smaller producers they own a number of their own estates globally in France, South Africa, New Zealand and now the UK.

They’re also part of our own Hattersley story. Boutinot were one of John and Diane’s very first suppliers back in the 1980s, when they were starting out. Nearly four decades later, that friendship and partnership is still going strong.

Andy, Alex and Kate have a fantastic selection of wines, some familiar favourites and a few bottles that might just surprise you.
