Included in this years list and available at Hattersley Wines…
Domaine Chevrot Maranges Blanc – An organically farmed white burgundy situated just 10km from Puligny and Chassagne Montrachet. This Maranges offers aromas of white and yellow peaches, enhanced by notes of bergamot tea. The refreshing palate boasts ripe yellow fruit flavours and is deliciously textured, with a lifted mineral finish.
Ontañón Rioja Viura Blanco - A firm favourite of ours from Bodega Ontañón with opulent aromas of pear and Jasmine, tropical notes and well-intergrated oak. The palate is poised with pineapple, vanilla and crisp lemon acidity - delicate brioche notes on the finish.
Daschbosch Chenin Blanc - A fine example of old vine Chenin Blanc from a 58 year old vineyard in Breedekloof. A standout wine in the excellent Daschbosch range of ‘heritage’ wines, one of the region’s leading quality producers. With shades of lemon and straw in the glass and and earthly character of wet stone, hints of ripe citrus and spice on the nose. Vibrant and concentrated with intense yet restrained fruit balanced by taut acidity and notable length.
Henschke Keyneton Euphonium - Not just a winner for the Wine Merchant but also… Wine Enthusiast 94 points, Robert Parker 91 points, Wine Spectator 91 points, stunning Barossa of great depth and quality. This generous wine offers rich flavours of red and blackcurrant, dried herbs and black pepper, with great purity, balance and texture forming a delicious mouthfeel, while velvety tannins provide great length and complexity.
Cairanne La Côte Sauvage - A rich, savoury and meaty mouthful of a wine from this Cru. Intense morello cherry fruit and a touch of sweet spice on the nose, ripe berry, liquorice and a hint of cinnamon spice on the palate, this wine is full flavoured, rich and smooth with supple tannins.
Mi Lugar Vino de Quel Rioja - No surprises here, of course this wine was going to be mentioned! A highly anticipated Rioja of great heritage and superb quality. Pronounced aromas of ripe black fruit and blueberries, backed by spice, mocha, fig and balsamic notes. The palate is generous with complex bramble and plum fruit characters, well-integrated oak and bright acidity. Structured yet elegant.
Klein Constantia Vin de Constance - One of the world's most iconic sweet wines, scoring consistantly 98 points. Bright yellow gold in colour. The nose is layered with complex flavours of Seville marmalade, ginger spice and grapefruit. A rich and luxurious mouthfeel, the wine is full bodied, fresh and vibrant. The palate is balanced showcasing a perfect harmony between salinity, acidity, spice and sweetness. Concentrated with suspended density, it concludes with a pithy astringency and a lingering finish.
