Christmas seems a long way behind us now, so it’s time to look forward to what 2017 has in store...

Maybe it's a significant year for you – A wedding? A big birthday? Or a chance for a catch up with old friends? Whatever the occasion, it always calls for a celebration of some sort. Any excuse right?

It can be rather daunting planning a party as there are so many components to bring together. Whilst we can't help you send out the invitations, arrange the canapés and find the perfect outfit, here at John Hattersley Wines Bakewell we can help you with the key ingredient to a successful shindig - WINE.

From the smallest dinner party, when we can help match the wines to your food, to the largest-outdoors-everyone-we-know-in-one-marquee event where, let's face it we are catering to the masses, we have got everything for you.

Starting with bubbles to get us in the mood, Prosecco these days is the go to drink and ‘Lunetta' is always a winner. However Durello is the new Kid on the block and at £8.50 a bottle it takes some beating. Found in the bars of Verona, this sparkling is creamier, more mineral and drier than most Prosecco's… and better value too! But let's not forget about nutty and sumptuous Cava, great with all manner of nibbles and of course Champagne for those really special occasions. You simply can't beat Champagne Lallier from 100% Grand Cru vineyards.

Now we need a choice of red, white or rosé (great party wines from £5.95 a bottle). Let's think about time of year, venue, meal or buffet, numbers attending and of course budget. Or you can simply let us know all these details and we will give you lots of ideas and recommend the quantities you will need so you know you won't run out or be drinking the left overs for the next year!

We can also deliver locally at a time to suit, provide free glassware (which you don't have to wash before you return!), organise ice and chill units and we can take back any wine you don't use.
