As an independent wine merchant we work closely with our producers and feel an enormous sense of pride when they're recognised for the quality in their wines. Here's a round up of our wines being talked about in the press, including recent award winners and highly commended bottles. 

San Felice Chianti Classico:

“...is bright, floral and fruity, all of which lend tons of immediacy. Crushed flowers, cedar, tobacco and mint play off a core of vibrant Sangiovese fruit in this charming, mid-weight offering from San Felice."

Antonio Galloni, Vinous. 

“...a versatile wine and a fundamentally food-friendly choice with lots of purple and blue fruits with hints of fragrant wild rose. The wine supports medium weight and lots of fresh acidity to cut through cream or butter based cooking ingredients."

Cave de L'Ormarine, Duc de Morny, Picpoul de Pinet:

“Aromas of lemon balm, white blossom and peach, followed by a palate that's more on the green and citrus fruit rather than rich ripe stone fruit. Good concentration of flavour and a hearty dose of salinity."

Cascina Nuova, Nizza Organic:

“Sweet aromas of vanilla and flowers with a brooding black fruit nose. Showing fresh juicy red berries and spices, like cloves and cinnamon. The oak is well-managed, and the palate is fresh with robust and integrated tannins. Warm and concentrated fruit, salty and mineral finish."

Gomez Cruzado Rioja Blanco:

“The style should be immediately appealing to those who like fresh, but textured whites with subtle use of oak. Comparisons to Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc are apt, although the wine is more than capable of standing on its own feet. This vintage appears particularly fresh and harmonious for whites."

"Floral and lightly wooded, with concrete and barrel components, this has notes of banana, peach and citrus with some leesy weight.

Boutinot 'La Cote Sauvage', Cairanne AOC:

“A fruity and well-balanced Cairanne with cherries, wild berries, warm herbs and baking spices. Medium body with crunchy berries. Fruity and vivid finish with excellent length. Grenache Noir, Syrah, Mourvedre and Carignon. Drinking well now but will hold."

Sandeman 10 Year Old Tawny Port:

"Sandeman Tawny Port is sweet with dark cherry, plum, soft citrus zest and anise spice balanced with vibrant acidity. Perfect as an after dinner treat served slightly chilled with hard cheeses, roasted nuts or for those with a sweet tooth, tiramisu and creme brulée."
