The gift that keeps on giving....two fab wines to get you to the weekend!

We personally are loving the weekly treats, they allow us to re-explore some of our favourite wines and styles, sharing a little info and a lot of treat with you!

For week 5 Sarah has picked a fresh, zesty white that is backed with weight and texture. John has opted for an elegant classic from one of his favourite and arguably the most reknowned wine regions in the world.

We want to thank you for all your support, so these wines are at a silly low price. We aren't trying to move stock, we haven't inflated any prices to give a discount, we genuinely aren't making any money on these wines... hence why we are only letting you take TWO BOTTLES MAXIMUM.

Gavi 'La Battistina' - High quality, single estate, fresh, yet weighty and complex.Gavi 'La Battistina'

From the beautiful rolling vineyards of Piemonte, this Gavi comes from southfacing vines grown in soil, chalk and mineral which result in a juicy, zesty wine full of citrus fruit which leaves our mouth watering.....more

The fresh clean mineral and lemon flavours of the Gavi La Battistina will be a great companion to Delicious magazines Tray Baked Sea bass with peppers tomatoes and pine nuts, although I don't think 1 bottle will be enough!!

ChâteaChâteau Trocard Monrepos Bordeaux Superioreu Trocard Monrepos Bordeaux Superiore - 100% Merlot for and elegant richly fruited and smooth

Hand selected by John when he could still visit the Bordeaux vineyards!  A perfect example that Bordeaux wines can be approachable and don't have to cost the earth. Southern, exposed clay slopes are used to grow this wonderful round and supple red. It spends 14 months in used oak which adds to the elegance of the gentle silky smooth tannins....more

The wine is light in style, elegant and with a short time in used oak it has lost a lot of tannins that would normally be prevelant.  The wine is 100% Merlot, with soft ripe berries that are ideal for Guinea Fowl, we love The Great Birtish Chefs simplicity, cooking with Lemon and Thyme.
