Let's talk wine
Yes we know it's easy to throw that bottle of Merlot in your shopping trolley because you may as well while you're in the supermarket and at least it says Merlot on the bottle right?
But do you ever wonder if that is the right wine for supper at the weekend? Or are there better options available which will turn Saturday night supper into a bit more of an occasion without leaving the comfort of your own home. Who to ask? Well your local independent wine shop may have the answers.
We try to make it simple for you. You can come in and tell us what's cooking and let us guide you through a few choices to perfectly suit your Friday night curry though to your Sunday roast. It may be a wine you've never heard of and, if that is the case, then ask us a few more questions about it. We love the story and people behind the wines and we know it enhances our enjoyment so we are quite confident that it will be the same for you too.
If you simply want to browse the shelves, then please come on in and do that too. You may have an idea that you want a Chateauneuf-du-Pape; great, we won't stop you but we probably will make other suggestions along the same lines which we think you may enjoy too.
Sorry to say we may even make you taste the wines we have open on Fridays and Saturdays, you could say no, but we know you probably won't! Hopefully we can take you out of your comfort zone and experience wines you may not have chosen off the shelf yourself. Worth a try we think, (just like that pair of shoes I mentioned earlier!)
What was that? You're having a party? We love a good party too! Don't worry we're not inviting ourselves along (yet!) but we can certainly guide you on suitable drinks choices and more importantly the quantities you may need so you're not left drinking up left overs for the next few months or worse still run out on the day! Yes, yes we can do glasses too and deliver to your door.
